The Gaspesian Midget Tournament, one of Canada’s oldest midget
hockey tournaments, will take place February 13 to 16, 2020 at the Jean-
Marie Jobin Sports Complex in New Richmond. Since 1970, thousands of
players have taken part in the tournament.
Between 12 and 16 teams from eastern Quebec and the Maritime provinces
are expected to to take part in the tournament. Games will get underway
Thursday evening (February 14) and the semi-finals and championship
games will be played on Sunday.

About the Gaspesian Midget Tournament

The Gaspesian Midget Tournament was founded by the New Richmond
Minor Hockey Association in 1969 with the first edition taking place in
February 1970 at the newly constructed New Richmond Arena, now the
Jean-Marie Jobin Sports Centre.
The tournament, which has been held without interruption since 1970, is
one of the oldest midget tournaments in Canada. The midget division
includes players aged 15 to 18 years.
All proceeds from the tournament are used by the New Richmond Minor
Hockey association to fund youth hockey for players from New Richmond,
Gesgapegiag, Cascapedia-Saint-Jules, Caplan and Saint Alphonse.
